Death with Dignity, Stromness, South Georgia
I discussed this photo with a friend who’s a photographer. He felt that I should crop it and focus on the seals — if my intention is to show the seals.
For me, I approached this image as if it’s a pano, and allowed the eye to wander without a focus. To me, the little discovery allows you to appreciate that death is simply an unavoidable part of life — such is the beauty of nature. So I kept everything as a I have shot it, while showing glimpse of everything as an overall landscape.
